V: HOW DOES THE SPITA FireFighter WORKS?

A: The SPITA FireFighter fights fire on a molecular level. The extinguishing mist consists of potassium aerosols that bind to the oxygen in the environment (oxygen is the fuel of fire). Because the amount of oxygen decreases, the fire disappears.

V: HOW LONG BEFORE THE SPITA FireFighter STARTS?

A: As soon as the tip of the yellow cap is rubbed on the dark tip of the SPITA FireFighter, the extinguishing mist is activated and you can start fighting the fire.

V: IS THE EXTINGUISHING AGENT SAFE?

A: If you inhale the extinguishing mist during use, there is NO DANGER to your health (lungs) because the extinguishing mist consists of potassium. Potassium is a regular food component and therefore the extinguishing mist is safe for your health and the environment.

PLEASE NOTE: the extinguishing agent of a regular fire extinguisher can be very dangerous to health because it may contain the carcinogenic PFAS.

V: HOW LONG IS THE EXTINGUISHING TIME OF THE SPITA FireFighter?

A: The SPITA FireFighter Professional has an extinguishing time of 50 - 60 seconds. This is up to 5 X longer than a common fire extinguisher.
The SPITA FireFighter Industrial has an extinguishing time of at least 95 seconds!

V: HOW LONG CAN I STORE THE SPITA FireFighter?

A: The SPITA FireFighter does not have an expiration date, like regular fire extinguishers.

V: WHAT IS THE BEST PLACE TO STORE THE SPITA FireFighter?

A: It is best to store the SPITA FireFighter in an easily accessible place, such as a kitchen drawer, the glove compartment of the car or a tool box when doing jobs. The SPITA FireFighter can also be attached to any wall or panel with a special clamp.

V: DO I NEED TO HAVE THE SPITA FireFighter REGULAR TESTED?

A: No, the SPITA FireFighter does not need to be tested after purchase. Only regular fire extinguishers should be tested regularly due to... the pressure in the container.

V: IS THE SPITA FireFighter SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND ANIMALS?

A: The SPITA FireFighter does not contain any toxic or hazardous substances and the container is NOT pressurized. The SPITA FireFighter is therefore absolutely safe!

V: CAUSES THE SPITA FireFighter ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT WHEN USED?

A: No, the SPITA FireFighter only contains the natural element POTASSIUM and is therefore 100% environmentally friendly. (A regular fire extinguisher CAN BE harmful to the environment because of the extinguishing agent).
After use, the SPITA FireFighter can be disposed of in the residual waste for 100% recycling of the metal and plastic parts.

V: CAN I STORE THE SPITA FireFighter SAFELY IN MY CAR, CARAVAN OR RV?

A: Yes, the SPITA FireFighter is NOT under pressure and can withstand a maximum temperature of 160°C. At higher temperatures the SPITA FireFighter will NOT explode, but the potassium extinguishing agent can then clump, making its operation no longer reliable.
(standard fire extinguishers ARE under pressure and may not exceed a maximum temperature of 65°C, so they must be stored in a cool box on hot summer days).

V: IS THE SPITA FireFighter SAFE TO USE WITH AN ELECTRICAL OR ELECTRONIC FIRE?

A: Yes, the SPITA FireFighter does not contain any electrically conductive substances and can be used at voltages up to 100,000 Volts. The extinguishing agent is NOT corrosive and any remains of the extinguishing agent can easily be removed with a vacuum cleaner after extinguishing, so that sensitive electronics are NOT affected. A battery fire can also be extinguished, but immediately afterwards the battery must be cooled (with water) to prevent re-ignition.
